SHFT co-founder Peter Glatzer made a PSA in support of California's proposed ban on plastic bags and set it to the Radiohead song Fake Plastic Trees. SHFT was then approached by a political action committee, Green Technology Leadership Group, to do a series of PSA's to fight Prop 23 - a dirty oil bill intended to reverse the states landmark enviornmental bills which were voted into law four years ago. Funded by 2 Texas oil companies and a tea party backer, the bill became national news. SHFT rolled out an informational hero video first explaining the issues, and then made some more hard-hitting spots to get people out to vote and to vote No on Prop 23. Prop 23 was defeated - the result we were after. We intend to do more of this.
