Corporate Climate Rankings 2011

  • Posted by Mitchell Flexo on December 15, 2011 in Business
  • Our compadres at Climate Counts -- a nonprofit aiming to bring "consumers and companies together in the fight against climate change" -- have just released their corporate climate responsibility rankings for 2011. The report looks at 136 different corporations in 16 industries, ranking them according to sustainability criteria. The guidelines include how well the company measures their emissions, what strategies they have taken in reducing emissions, how supportive they are of sustainable energy policy, and how much they disclose publicly about their sustainability efforts. According to the report, the companies with the most climate-responsible businesses of the year are Unilever, AstraZeneca, and Timberland. The full results can be seen here.

On the other side of the coin, Newsweek released a list of the least green companies in the world, with T. Rowe Price Group, BlackRock, and Monsanto  topping the list.
