The Congo, Africa's volatile beating heart, has for centuries represented a vast unknown to the Western imagination. Irish photographer Richard Mosse expands on this subject with Infra, a collection of photos shot in the embattled region using a discontinued color infrared film called Kodak Aerochrome, originally developed as a military surveillance technology. The film renders the lush green landscape in psychedelic hues of purple, red, and hot pink.
