Through my years of travel, I have come to understand that at its core, life is a series of departures and arrivals, both physical and emotional. The trip is not about the destination, but about the journey so they say. I cannot think of a better entrance to a city than racing forward toward a distant skyline on a highway or flying over the terrain before officially arriving. This is a photo series of some memorable flights to and from cities all over the world.
Though the destination may be set, I often don't know what to expect or what I will find when I arrive. In accepting this, I have taught myself to live within every passing moment. It is in this suspended space between leaving and arriving that our wings unravel and we learn to fly. You may never find out exactly where you're headed, but as long as you spread your wings, the wind will carry you.
