When the Anthropologist approached David Eustace about a photo project, the Glasgow-born, New York-based photographer decided to to back -- way back -- to his ancestral home in the Scottish Highlands. The resulting collection of photos, entitled Highland Heart, document his travels through the Highlands and Hebridean Islands, aptly capturing the dark, mystical glory of the craggy landscapes.
"It is a landscape of many contradictions," he writes, "an often cold, harsh and barren land, where the weather can be as severe as anywhere, and then in an instant turn glorious, offering a spectacle of richness and warmth equal to any place I have visited."
