Excellent Eco Design by Inger Steinnes

  • Here's a big thank you to It's Nice That for acquanting us with Inger Steinnes, our new favorite product designer. The young Norwegian creative makes beautiful functional objects that make use of recycled and/or repurposed materials.

Take, for example, her Brew series (last two photos), which aims to show "how something we regard as waste actually can become something valuable." The series is constructed from a new material called Brewmaster, made by mixing used coffee grounds with plaster and colour to create new effects and properties.

Then there is her Dupla collection (middle two photos), a thoughtful range of trays she designed for the café at the Norwegian National Gallery, which can be taken apart and put back together again in endless combinations.

Beautiful, functional, and sustainable. What more can you ask for!
