Light Paintings by Nicolas Rivals

  • Posted by SHFT on December 30, 2013 in Art
  • In his series Eloge de la Stabilité (translated loosely as In Praise of Stability), French photographer Nicolas Rivals presents images of incredible light paintings created around Paris. The warm, radiant shapes are juxtaposed against the cold concrete surroundings, creating an interesting contrast between the two elements.

"There is always hope that even in the depths of night a glimmer will appear," he writes. "Light is never as reassuring as the anguish of the shadow. A little light, a little sense would for a moment make the chaos disappear."
