Magical New Works by Rune Guneriussen

  • Posted by Neil Simonton on October 10, 2012 in Art
  • Here is some dreamy new work from Norwegian artist Rune Guneriussen, who assembles installations of lamps (not to mention books and chairs) in the forest then photographs the scenes. Staying true to the dream theme that runs through the works, Guneriussen disassembles and removes the installations after he has captured the images, so the only proof that they ever existed is in the photos.

    From his artist's statement:

As an artist, I believe strongly that art itself should be questioning and bewildering as opposed to patronising and restricting. As opposed to the current fashion I do not want to dictate a way to the understanding of my art, but rather indicate a path to understanding a story.
