Mixed Media Works by Aliza Razell

With what she calls “a burning need to create,” 19-year-old Finnish artist Aliza Razell experiments with multiple media to create spellbinding self-portraits. For these works, spotted on Colossal, she used digital software to merge self-portrait photography with watercolor painting, and the results are pretty cool.

The pictures come from two of her latest series. The first, Anesidora, involves the story of Pandora’s Box, inspired by the magic of confronting – and ultimately collaborating with – something entirely foreign and otherworldly. The second is inspired by the Finnish word Ikävä, meaning the feeling of missing someone or something.
