The good peeps at Repurpose Compostables are on a mission to replace single-use, petroleum-based plastic cups with greener, plant-based alternatives. Needless to say, we're down for their cause.
The company's Repurpose This! campaign asked people to show off their creative repurposing ideas, with sweet prizes for the best projects. SHFT was approached by Repurpose to judge the contestants and select the top projects. So here you go!
And the winner is....
A chair made from old street signs (far left), from Earle Sullins. No u-turns while seated please.
And your runner-ups (left to right):
A rustic flag fashioned from old barn wood, from Cheryl Walker
Wall planters made using old mason jars, from Stacy Risenmay
The Nano Tree, a raw wood iPhone charger from Joel Scilley
Old sports coats repurposed as a beautiful hand bag by Evon Cassier
A chandelier reimagined as a cake stand by Jamielyn Nye
A horse barn made with salvaged wood by Jean Beasley
Congrats to all the winners! Keep on repurposin' y'all.
