    Scientists have discovered that mercury pollution wetland habitats can turn white ibises gay. "We knew mercury could depress their testosterone levels," said the lead researcher. "But we didn't expect this." The gay birds are said to be uninterested in females, preferring to hold each other's wings and gossip about Glee. (via MNN)

    The Obama administration flipped its controversial position on offshore drilling, announcing that it will not allow offshore drilling in the eastern Gulf of Mexico or off the Atlantic coast until at least 2017.
