A few months ago, we showcased Ye Rin Mok's Topanga Cabin series, which features images of the simple life at a rudimentary cabin in Topanga Canyon. Now the LA photographer returns with more pics of mellow living, this time from a trip to Convict Lake in California's Sierra Nevada.
According to Wikipedia, Convict Lake was named after an incident in 1871 when a group of Carson City prison esapees faced off in a gun battle with the authorities in the area. Mok's images, however, reveal nothing of the mountain lake's violent past. Quiet and contemplative, the photos depict everything that's good about getting out of the city and into wilder surroundings.
Ye Rin Mok's online portfolio is full of good stuff. Having a look is strongly recommended.
