At the core of Holland's enviable international reputation are two things: bike culture and modern design. Fietsklik, an Amsterdam-based startup, taps into both with the Crate, a detachable, lockable cargo system for bikes. The brand, which means "bike click" in Dutch, was launched after one of the founders dropped a case of beer while trying to transport it by bicycle. Enter the Crate and its locking platform, with enough room to hold a full case of your favorite beverage.
The Crate system is based on the Klik, which fits onto the rear of the bicycle like a standard rack system. Once the Klik is affixed to your bike, you can easily attach the Crate or other Fietsklik messenger bags, with no tools required.
Fietsklik has sailed past its crowdfunding goal of $40,000, but you can still get the Klik rack system and Crate via Kickstarter for just $99.
