Erlend Oye "Garota"

  • Norway's alt-pop king finds (and loses) love on tour in Seoul, South Korea

Erlend Øye, best known as one half of Kings Of Convenience and as the former leader of Whitest Boy Alive, has recorded a new solo album with Icelandic reggae group Hjalmar. This newly released song and video give us a picture of what to expect. Harkening Sade, the sophisticated funkiness of "Garota" is a far cry from the folky sounds of KoC, the only constant being Øye's ultra-smooth vocal delivery. In the video, we find the Norwegian singer on tour in Seoul, South Korea, where he gets tangled up with a local love interest. The bit was directed by Michael Beech. Watch above.

Legao will arrive on October 3 via Øye's own Bubbles Records. You can pre-order it on iTunes here.
