Musical Laser Forests

There is only a handful of things that literally every human on earth loves, and they include lasers, forests, and music. Creative studio Marshmallow Laser Feast combined all three of those wonderful things with “Laser Forest,” a real-time interactive experience created for STRP Biennale in Eindhoven, Netherlands earlier this year.

Using drones, laser beams, projection mapping, and custom tools, the team created a metaphorical forest of lasers featuring over 150 rods which can be tapped and played. The idea was to tap into people’s sense of wonderment and playfulness in a magical environment:

“Everyone has those memories of walking through a forest as a young kid and it feels so magical. We tried to recreate the sensation of a magical experience, for adults.”
